Andrea Razzaghi

Andrea Razzaghi is the Deputy Director of Astrophysics for NASA and a recognized NASA Modern Figure (opens new window), a program honoring the contributions of African American women scientists and engineers at NASA. Razzaghi manages a portfolio of over 20 NASA missions and/or international partnerships including our nation’s Great Observatories in space: Hubble, Chandra, and Spitzer, which have transformed our understanding of the cosmos, and Kepler, which discovered that virtually all the stars in the night sky have planets and was the first NASA mission to find Earth-size planets in the “habitable zone.” Razzaghi earned her bachelors of science in mechanical engineering from Brown University and her masters of science in mechanical engineering design from the Catholic University of America. July 2017 marked her 32nd year with NASA.
