Contest: Biographies of Contemporary Women in Mathematics

Each year, the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) sponsors an essay contest that is open to students in grades 6-12 as well as college undergraduates. Students are invited to interview a woman who works in a mathematics field and write a 500 to 1000-word biography based on their interview.
